Questions, a wrong picture, trouble with a payment, or an idea: email support@depixelate.app. A person reads every message, usually within a day or two.
Common questions
›How do players join?
The host opens a game on a big screen. Players scan its QR code or type the room code on their phones. They don’t need an account or an app.
›How do I cancel or change Pro?
Open the menu at the top right and choose Manage subscription. You can cancel, switch plans or update your card there. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. An event pass ends on its own, with nothing to cancel.
›A picture or answer is wrong
Tell us which quiz and what’s wrong. The built-in pictures come from Wikimedia Commons, and a few slip through. We fix them quickly.
›Someone shared a pack that shouldn’t be here
Use Report on the pack’s page, or email us. Packs that several people report are hidden until we review them.
›How do I delete my account?
Email us from the address you signed in with and we’ll delete it and everything in it.
Privacy
We keep as little as the game needs, we don’t sell it, and there are no advertising trackers.
Playing without an account. A player gives only a nickname. It is shown in the room and kept with the game’s results. Your phone remembers which player you are in its own storage, so a refresh doesn’t drop you from the game.
With an account. We keep your email address, and your name if Google or Apple gives us one. We also keep what you make and play: your packs and the pictures you upload, the games you host and their results, your Daily scores and streak, and any ratings or reports you leave. A report is never shown with your name.
Payments. Stripe takes the payment. We never see or store your card. We keep whether you have Pro and until when.
Who else sees it. The services that run depixelate: Supabase (database, sign-in and uploaded pictures), Vercel (hosting and page-view counts that don’t use cookies), and Stripe (payments). Google or Apple, if you sign in with them. And other players in your room, who see your nickname and score.
Your choices. Delete a pack or picture from Your packs at any time. To get a copy of your data, or to delete your account and everything in it, email support@depixelate.app.
Children. Anyone can join a game with a nickname, and kids do. Accounts are for people 13 and over. If you think a child under 13 has made one, tell us and we’ll delete it.
Terms
By using depixelate you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.
Your packs. You own the pictures you upload. You give us permission to store them and show them to the people you play with, and to anyone else if you share the pack. Only upload pictures you have the right to use. Nothing hateful, sexual, violent or illegal, and nothing that singles out a private person. We can hide or remove a pack that breaks this, and close an account that keeps doing it.
Nicknames. Keep them decent. Other people in the room see them.
Pro. A subscription renews each month or year until you cancel it. Cancel any time from Manage subscription, and it stays on until the end of the period you paid for. An event pass covers the days it says and doesn’t renew. Prices are on the Pro page. If we change them, we’ll tell you before your next renewal.
The built-in pictures belong to their photographers and are used under their licences, credited on the picture and on the photo credits page.
The service. We work to keep depixelate running and correct, but it is provided as it is, without guarantees. We aren’t liable for losses from using it beyond what you paid us in the last twelve months. We may update these terms, and will note the date below when we do.
