Free classroom quiz game with pictures

One screen at the front. Every student on their own phone.

Put the host screen on the projector or the board. Each picture starts as a handful of blocks and sharpens over ten seconds, and every student answers on their own device at the same moment — not one hand up at a time. The sooner they commit, the more it is worth, so the room goes quiet, then very loud.

Host a game

Free. Players never need an account.

No student accounts

Students type the four-letter room code and a nickname. No logins, no email addresses, nothing for IT to install. Ask them to use a nickname rather than their full name.

Whatever devices the room has

Phones, Chromebooks, tablets, the laptop cart: anything with a browser. The picture is drawn on each device against the server clock, so a slow one is not a late one.

Fits the end of a lesson

8 pictures a round, ten seconds each, with the answer and the standings after every one. A few minutes, start to finish.

The whole class, not half of it

Free rooms hold 30 devices, enough for a whole class to play on their own. With Pro there is no limit, and you can set a longer timer, split the room into teams, or have students type the answer. See Pro

Questions people ask

Do students need an account or an app?
No. Students open the site in any browser, type the room code and a nickname, and play. They never give an email address. Only the teacher needs an account, and only to make a custom pack.
Is it safe to use with students?
Students never make an account or give an email address: all they type is the room code and a nickname. Ask them to use a nickname rather than their full name.
Does it work on Chromebooks and school tablets?
Yes. It runs in the browser, so anything that can open a web page can play: Chromebooks, iPads, phones, laptops.
How many students can play?
Up to 30 devices in a free game, enough for most classes; a bigger group plays in pairs. Pro rooms have no limit, and a $4.99 event pass gives you Pro for 7 days without a subscription.
How long does a game take?
A round is 8 pictures, ten seconds each, with the answer and the standings after every one. It fits the last few minutes of a lesson.
Is there a Thanksgiving or holiday quiz for class?
Yes: Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, and a winter holidays pack with Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and New Year’s Eve alongside Christmas, among the built-in packs. All free to host.
